Universal Truths
Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice drawing upon Universal teachings common to all great faiths as well as to the ecological and humanist philosophies of the modern world. Personal qualities of integrity, self-awareness, honesty and responsibility are key to yoga practice. These qualities underpin the physical work that goes on in a yoga class.
Living a comfortable, relaxed and powerful life
Feeling comfortable, relaxed, powerful and still within our own body is a transformative experience. It has an obvious impact on the physical level of our being but also, over time begins to influence the mental and emotional aspects of our lives. Habitual ways of behaving and relating change as we begin to engage with life from a place of trust and growing inner security.
Meditation
As we work with our own body and breath with skill and awareness we uncover qualities of stillness, joy and fearlessness at the core of our being. Once awakened, these qualities begin to inform our lives and give us the courage to live our full potential.Body and mind are recognised as a continuum in the East and the primary goal of yoga is to quieten the mind. In our growing freedom from ‘mental chatter’ we are able to access profound joy, contentment and strength, greatly enhancing our health and the quality of our lives and relationships.
My Teachers
I have been privileged to receive excellent tuition and guidance over the past twenty years from John Stirk , Osteopath and Yoga Teacher , and, for the past 12 years, by Eliza Harrison, Meditation Teacher. My work rests upon this guidance and is nurtured by daily meditation/yoga practice and by the integrity and curiosity of my students.
