Classes and courses for children
There is a growing body of research evidence to back up anecdotal claims that yoga in schools has all round benefit. Classroom behaviour improves, listening skills are sharpened and children learn to concentrate, co-operate and focus. Physically they improve balance, co-ordination and motor skills. Mentally they become more alert and attentive and emotionally they become more confident and assured allowing them build better relationships with peers and adults.

I work with children from age 4 through to upper teens. Classes are very ‘hands on’ and each child receives individual attention during a lesson. The physical movements are very simple, the challenge is the degree of concentration, and attention to detail that is required. I teach in a western way from a western perspective using stories and examples from everyday life to illustrate the philosophical and universal teachings of yoga.

yoga sessions have helped the children to think about how they move and sit at school and at home. During lessons, the children gain inner calm and a sense of peace. This is not always easy for some who find it challenging to be still, however the benefits are clear to see when the children return to school. Laura has excellent rapport with students, making time for each individual
